Sinningia harleyi has a rambling habit, with weak and sprawling stems. In its natural Brazilian habitat it grows among rocks, sometimes from soil deposits in cracks and fissures. It can make a nice large pot plant.

Flowers vary in color and pattern, some with lines composed of merged spots, others with more discrete spots, and in various shades of pink and red.
