Eucodonia

Eucodonia was once thought to be closely allied to Achimenes, but is now understood to be quite a distinct and well-defined genus with only two variable species, E. verticillata and E. andrieuxii. Like most members of Gloxiniinae, it has scaly rhizomes. Its natural distribution is limited to Central America and northern South America, but it is widely grown and valued for both its flowers and its beautiful foliage
